This is a tough one. Last year, Soriano was a slam dunk, but of the players who are not on the DL, I can't think of anyone who's deserving. Hopefully Hill and Bergman are activated in time, and keep pitching as they did before their injuries, and one of them gets picked.

Peorgie, it's nice to think Hill and Bergie are worthy of going to the ASG, but your forget that the ASG has become a boring show where only the "all-stars" by name get to go, bums like Jason Varitek will probably go, while a guy like Josh Hamilton or Russell Martin gets left behind.

Bergie and Hill are both no-names by definition, and I feel terrible saying that.

Hey, Varitek isn't a bum! I would guess that Zimmerman goes and perhaps Hill or Bergmann on the players vote.

Have to agree with you, but after all, the fans do vote as well. MLB is trying to appeal to the fans any and every way it can, just like the NFL and NBA, and if adding "Big Poopie" will make more people watch it then that is what they will do.

My point is that someone from each team has to go. If nobody gets voted in by the fans, which is likely, then who do you think will get picked? I would have said Zimmerman before the season, but he's had an awfully slow start.

I meant to say "washed-up".

Slow start if you are expecting him to get to the numbers he had last year, when we had Soriano, which I think are still attainable if he whole team starts hitting better and Nick comes back.

Whoever Tony LaRussa feels will help the NL win this year. I have a strange feeling it will be Austin Kearns as a defensive replacement in the OF for the worthless DHs the fans will likely elect to start there.

I'd say the primary candidates are:

(In no particular order mind you)

1. Ryan Zimmerman-Most recognizable guy on the ballot and a really good ball player, seems like the type of guy Tony would take
2. Jason Berggman-Having a great season till he got hurt
3. Shawn Hill-Same as Berggman
4. Austin Kearns-Another recognizable game
5. Chad Cordero-Has dropped his ERA quite a bit lately and is still reliable
6. Felipe Lopez-Recognizable name, been an AS before too
8. Brian Schneider-Seems like Tony's type of guy
9. Ryan Church-Not having a half bad season
10. Dmitri Young-Not having a half bad season

The last two were basically throw-ins to round it off at 10

Cordero or Zimmerman are the only two that would come to mind as a average baseball fan, one of them will probably go.
