i know someone who is a freshman, who obviously is playing varsity. as a scout, how do theese numbers sound?

6.7 60 yard dash time
this person can throw 300 ft.
This person can hit around 330 ft (give or take 10 ft)

How do those #'s sound for someone who wants to play at the next level. this guy is soooo good at baseball. what do you guys think of his chances?

Not enough information. Impossible to tell without video of hitting and throwing mechanics, and that's just to get an initial read.

they have pretty good hitting mechanics, pulls of a little, swing is a little long, like manny ramirez. has good throwing mechanics, and flawless running mechanics and baserunning skills are amazing.

No offense, but what you think is amazing might be merely average to a seasoned scout. Good video analysis is necessary.

Also, come on man, we all know that you're talking about yourself. ;)

Just get your work in offseason, stay conditioned, and get honest opinions about what you need to work on from your coaches and trainers. Study throwing mechanics from clips online (Siggy's Throwing Mechanics), learn more about pitching theory, and do your best to emulate the pros.

Above all, have fun doing it all. You're young and you have a lot of time left before you need to get extremely serious about scouts. You have the right attitude now - don't get burned out.

Scouts are not interested in you. You're a middle school player. You haven't proved you can hit high school pitching yet. You haven't proved you can catch up to a 85-90 mph fastball. You haven't proved you can handle a hard breaking pitch. You haven't proved you can get a proper jump and track a cannon shot hit 350 feet up the gap. From your questions I think you lack baseball instincts which is a huge part of being a prospect. Enjoy the game. Learn the game. Take it one step at a time. If you become a prospect someone who matters (scout, coach) will tell you.

What level of summer ball are you playing?

If you have a long swing against middle school pitching, a high school pitcher will eat you alive. Do you still consisder yourself a pro prospect?

If you understood how hard players work to become pro prospects and what a small percentage of all baseball players they are, you would get it why someone would get tweaked about someone calling themselves a prospect when they're not.

If that's really your speed (don't care if it is) and you make consistant contact, you're a good prospect to play high school ball if you work on fixing your flaws.

correct me if i'm wrong, but when did i ever call myself a prospect? All i ever did was wonder what my chances were ok...

And, i am not dumb, i know how much work goes into it. i am not stupid ok...
i am fully aware of how good you have to be, but i was just trying to see where i was. i am good in my league, but i was curious to see how good in comparison to other people my age... does that make sense?
