It is a shame that it is only in Dutch.

Luckily, I can get my ex-GF to translate for me.
USA Baseball will be sending a squad..same squad of collegians that will also be in the Pan Am games. So far, 11 players have been named, with two returnees from last year's USA squad that wone the FISU championships...Jemile Weeks of U/Miami and Pedro Alvarez of Vanderbilt.

Thanks for the tip. I'll probably go up for the weekend of the finals. Does this tournament happen every year? If so, is it usually the same week?
It's quite odd that it's only in Dutch, but luckily I can figure a lot of it out from German.

Hi Jareb. This tournament is held every other year. There is also another tournament in Haarlem, also held every other year. So in 2008 it will be Haarlem's turn again.

Alvarez, Kieschnick and Weeks were on the 2006 squad that won the gold at the FISU championships in Havana...
Who of these players do you expect to have a Major League career?
It will be a good opportunity for me to get some autographs from future MLB stars. :)
So far, the frontrunners for a MLB career seem to be Alvarez, Weeks and Kieschnick. Weeks's older brother is Ricky Weeks of the Brewers and Kiechsnick's older brother Brooks also spent some time in the bigs. Alvarez was 5 40 .382 for the US squad in 2006, including a 0 14 .375 performance in Havana at the FISU Championships. That 2006 team just had 7 players picked in the first round of last week's draft two in the Compensation round, one player in the second round andf one in the 5th; no doubt Alvarez will definitely be a first-rounder in the 2008 draft.
Attached is the USA Baseball schedule that includes the World Port Tornament and the Pan Am games.
