Before I get too busy with other stuff and leave here possibly for good - I'll say thanks to y'all now - I wanted to start this post; if you had the talent, what is your dream career in baseball?

I've always had a pitcher's mentality, more than a hitters' - I never really understood why all my friends seemed to want to be sluggers growing up. Yeah, there was Reggie Jackson, but pitching was about craftiness, and fooling hitters, and you had all those guys behind you to help out.

I also dreamed of being a third basemanfor some reason, if I had the reflexes and the vision; that's where I played in beeper baseball, the baseball they have for visually impaired kids. But, when I wrote ideas in study hall, it was about breaking Cy Young's record (this would have been back in the 80s), winning 35 (why stop at 30 - but even I thought 40 was out of reach) and possibly breaking the record for complete games in a row, though i knew that would be tougher.

One thing my daydreaming self shared with all those sluggers - like Babe Ruth, I wanted enough control of a team to get them to replace the cookie cutter ballpark with an old fashioned type on, if I played for the Reds or Pirates.
