The Minnesota Twins released Sidney Ponson yesterday. This was one day after he allowed six runs on Saturday. Apparently he didn't learn his control lesson from his fateful tenure with the Cardinals last year.

Terry Ryan didn't waste time in releasing Ponson after his worst start of the season, and who will take his roster spot?

That's good to hear about Slowey, he played at Winthrop and I go to Clemson... he came over and dominated us and Clemson always had a great hitting team. I'd be willing to bet he has gotten a lot better with professional pitching instructors. :thumbsup:

Poor Ponson, his career's been on a total downhill slide over the past several seasons.

Remember how good he was with the Orioles, before getting so big and having drinking and pitching problems?

thats just the thing... mr pohlad doesnt allow him to spend any money. instead hes stuck going for these hit or miss veterans. castillo and arguably white have worked, the rest... not so much
