More than half of baseball fans are rooting against Barry Bonds as he tries to break Hank Aaron's major league home run record of 755, according to an ESPN/ABC News poll.
however:
A majority of fans -- 58 percent -- think Bonds should be in the Hall of Fame. That's 10 points higher than a similar poll conducted last summer.

the poll's results reflect the different attitudes of blacks and whites towards bonds.
It's amazing how quick we are in this country to accuse someone of something without knowing the facts. Everybody's life is fair game these days. It's not just the Bonds issue but many other issues.
I realize there are allegations & maybe some of them are true. The way Bonds is hitting the ball this year with all the allegations swirling around him, he'd be foolish to think about using steriods.

we should be more concerned that more than half of african americans polled wanted bonds to break the record....hate it or not, it once again is becoming a race issue

what if less than half of the black people polled want bonds to break 755?
what if more than 50% of all polled? would there no longer be what you call a "race issue"?

I can't help but think if bonds was white that a lot of white people wouldn't care. Im white and I think Bonds is such an awesome hitter. Can't wait to see 755!

I think that is why mlb is making it worse on themselves by not stepping up and bringing the steroid issues to a close. The fans of baseball have been taking out thier frustrations on Bonds from realizing they were duped by Sosa and McGuire. Now that the record is approaching and people are learning that steroids was pretty much wide spread throughout all of baseball, they are understanding Bonds is definitely not as big of a bad guy in all of this, and he truely is one of the best hitters in the history of baseball.

I've never mentioned that. Having a big head isn't the only side affect of doing steriods so I've never used that as my only reason to accuse him. In fact I've never really accused him.
If having a big head means someone used steriods, then George Costanza must have been a serious steriod user in the last years of Seinfeld.

Its not the fact that his head is big. Its the supposed fact that his hat sized increased a few sizes in the late 90's, along with his shoe size increasing a few. I have never personally read or heard that these were facts though, has anyone else?

If this is in reference to that ABC poll, that's a pretty small sample size to project across the entire group of both white and black.

I'll need some proof of this. I've addressed the issue from both sides. But I've NEVER said anything about him being a steriod user because he has a big head.

Don't forget, though, that the man whose record he will be breaking is also black. If Aaron were white, I think this would be more of an issue.

that you have not ever used the size of bonds' head as your "only" reason to accuse him means that you have accused him. you just did so without relying entirely on that one thing.

Stop making accusations you if can't back them up. I checked every single post I've made to see if I made any comments that accused Bonds of doing steroids & found NONE. I dare you to do the same. In fact on this thread I defended his right to be innocent until proven guilty. I'm not sure how one day I accuse him of doing steriods, then another I defend him. Most people stick to one side of an issue.
That's cool. You love Bonds because he's your hometown hero. But your paranoia that everyone's out to get him or something is a little embarassing.
Until you find a post that I accuse him of using steriods, you should probably avoid making accusations. In fact, you should probably avoid my posts altogether until you get your act together.

Of all the message boards I've ever been on, I've never seen someone quote people as irresponsibly as you do. You cut & paste half sentences & use them as your justification for baseless allegations. It's shameful, embarassing & if this were the real world, unethical. If you really are a Moderator, you are a lousy example of how a moderator should behave.
I'm still waiting for a link of the comments I made that not only accused him of using steriods but that I used his head size as my proof. Therefore the comments would be made before 5/9/07.
Don't think I'm just going to let this slide.

He was chastising you & using me as an example of a person who made an allegation which I did not.
...by now i realize that you did not accuse bonds - that's good news.

two things that made me earnestly believe that you accused bonds:

^^ i logged on this morning to suggest that this thread be closed, as it has become nothing more than a conversation. upon arrival, i read that you continue to pay no attention to explanations (dodgerfan's and mine), and continue to make demands.
