Hi,
I'm just wondering if there were any pros who never played in highschool (cut or just never played). This does not include players drafted early or from other countries.
Thanks

I know Buerhle didn't make the team until his senior year of high school and i dont think Lee Smith played until later in his high school life too. I dont think Matt Clement got started until sometime in college too.

Matt Clement didn't pitch until his senior year of high school when the team needed pitching. He was a position player through high school.

Think that Mike Lansing didn't play high school because in Wyoming they don't have high school ball. His parents hauled him all over playing legion ball though.

Don't think there is any 8th graders being drafted into pro ball.

Kenny Rogers didn't play until his senior year, and he was an outfielder. Travis Hafner didn't play high school baseball at all. He lived in a very small town, and he was in a class of about ten I believe. He played in junior college, and that is how he was drafted.

He is talking about Jeremy Bonderman perhaps.
