I had to laugh when I saw the add for the All Star Game on Yankees.com.

I know this ASG is all about popularity, but except for (maybe) Jeter and A-Rod, nobody deserves to be there at the moment.

What do you think about that?

Jorgie? He's third amongst AL catchers in VORP. When I vote for the ASG, I also take stats from the second half of last season too. Not just this current season. So I'd say Robbie Cano may deserve some mention too. But right now my ASG ballot looks like this

C: Joe Mauer
1B: Justin Morneau
2B: Ian Kinsler (if Cano picks it up he gets my vote)
3B: Alex Rodriguez
SS: Derek Jeter
RF: Vladimir Guerrero
CF: Grady Sizemore
LF: Manny Ramirez

Stupid me.

How could I forget one of my 2 favorite players? You are absolutely right. He is hitting very well at the moment. No comment needed about his work behind the plate.

Jorge definitely and I'd even say Petite. Even though he had a bad game against boston, he put up good numbers for his previous starts. Without the two blown saves, he'd be 3-1.

You never know how igawa will do??
Starting pitcher for AL at the moment will be Josh Beckett or Roy Halladay
Starting Pitcher for NL at the moment will be Tim Hudson or Dontrelle Willis

Of course we will not know how good or bad Igawa will do. But in general he is considered a nr. 5 starter, so not All Star material.

Against the Red Sox he has shown some signs of improvement, but that is only one game.

Would you actually vote for Posada over Mauer at this point?

Not vote for, but I think he should be on the roster at the moment.

If it's the ad I saw, it looks like all teams have them. Even the Nationals are asking fans to vote for their players.

That's right. But when I look to my team, I really think there are only three players that deserve a spot on the AL All Star team.
