Should be a great series, it'l be a test to the bottom 3 of the order in this one followed by a monday matchup with The Doc and Vince.

Well these things will happen from time to time when Josh is on the mound. He is a pitcher that relies on his defence to work and get guys out. A power team like Texas will have the upper-hand in most cases in a match-up like that.

this strike zone has been absolutly rediculous. wow.

With the kind of day I'm having I'm not even going to comment, the Chiefs played a double header today, the Jays played, I just watched 3 games in which they all blew 9th run leads, that is really bad, really bad and I am absolutely pissed so I'm not even going to say anything.

I had my own softball practice today (scraped myself trying to catch one in the outfield) so I missed most of the Blue Jays game. Can someone fill me in as to exactly how things went down? How did Glaus look?

I was at the game today. Glaus looked great. Made an incredible slide into home to tie the game in the 8th I think it was. He was on base at least 3 times I think. Gibbons proved one more time that he couldn't manage a bullpen to save his soul, the home plate umpire had a strike zone that changed with every batter, Chacin was below average and the bullpen was pathetic. Adam Lind is a keeper, Reed may have to fight for his job back, and may lose. The Jays bats were alive, but they couldn't keep a lead. I thought that Gibbons pulled Accardo way to soon. He was pitching well.
Anyway, just a few quick thoughts about the game to answer your question.
Have a great day!!

Thanks much. I still think Left is Johnson's to lose. It would be hard to fit Lind into the Line-up right now, as the line-up seems well constructed with Johnson leading off when he gets back. I think that Lind won't be hurt by 1 more season in AAA.

Really good game today. The offense was rolling, and it was crucial that Ohka pitch effectively and make it deep into the game. All around good game.

different line-up today and it seemed to work. i wonder if they will stick with it because i for one am not a rios leadoff fan and lind did an okay job today.

i think its johnsons too lose as well. lind might be a better hitter but johnson is a true leadoff guy and really makes our offense go round.

I wasn't a huge fan of todays lineup, I didn't catch the part when Jamie announced the lineup but it was confusing, it doesn't look natural.

I'd like to say something about Darrin Fletcher, when we came in to this series I heard him talk and he didn't know a thing about brodcasting, he just plain sucked, he was by far my least favourite Jays annalist, but2 games in I started to like him because he was fun, he made jokes and he's just fun to listen to, I liked his joke where Jamie said "Now Darrin, you and Sammy Sosa played against eachother in the minor leagues isn't that rght?" "yes Jamie and it's so strange to see great guys before they become stars, I was so happy for Sammy that he got a chance to meet me". it seemed alot funnier at the time, I jsut thought I'd share my opinion on Darrin.

yeah, I remember that joke, it was actually pretty funny, however I'm with you...on a whole, I don't really like his commentary and Rance has to compare everything to how he played the game...IMO Pat Tabler is by far the best...

I like Rance, alot of people think he's self-centered but I've never payed attention, next game he calls I will try to listen more carefully, welcome to BBf by the way, it's always good to have another Jays fan in the mix...are you a Jays fan?

Thanks, a friend told me about this site a while back and I thought I had joined up but I guess I didn't...but I'm here now lol

Yes I'm a Jays fan for sure...been to a few games this year already, probably going to the Boston game next week when they are in town...I'm a pitcher myself, although I'm taking this season off, I still practice a couple times a week

do you play?

Who's your favourite pitcher in MLB?

fletcher imo is probably the worst of the group but i tolerate him because of my love for him as a player. that sosa thing was pretty damn funny.

mullinicks has really improved as an announcer since he first started and tabler, though i don't really like him in the booth, is pretty insightful and is the best of the group.

anyone know if candiotti is going to do some games this year for sportsnet? i really enjoyed him and i dont believe he did any last year.

I play for the Biggar Nationals in my town..Biggar, I am an outfielder and am foresure better with the glove than with the bat, I didn't think we would play any games until the end of may but I actually just got an e-mail saying games start next week!!! so I am a little nervous. My favourite pitcher has got to be Roy Halladay, like many many other Jays fans but I do watch the Best Damn Sports Show Period alot so I like Dibble.

All this talk about lead-off hitters with Johnson and Rios. How about that speed demon Matt Stairs running out an infield hit? And wow did Hill ever tee off on that one. That was a no doubter. And, it was good to see Glaus hit on out. How I missed that.

Nice...yeah, Halladay is an outstanding pitcher...however, my favourite would probably have to be Josh Beckett

Personally, I like Fletcher the best out of all of them. He's just what a colour guy should be: funny, and easy to listen to. And he doesn't kill you with insight from when he was a player. I like him alot.

Rance kills me... And Tabler is neither here nor there with me.

I went to the game where Halladay threw 10 innings, and the game after it where the Jays blew it in the 9th (the game before BJ was put on the DL). School's getting intense now, so I probably won't get to any games until school's done, but I plan on going alot this summer.

Personally, I play catcher for my ball team. I also play HS ball.

LOL, I'm the friend and this is my first post in here....I hovered around the site for a bit the first day, but then I got busy with school.....I've gone to a few games this year too, Ghost and I usually go to the games when we can. Jays are my favourite team, Halladay and Pettite and my favourite current pitchers and Reed Johnson is probably my fav. player. My all time favourite pitcher would have to be Jimmy Key. He was an amazing south-paw pitcher IMO.

I don't play right now but I did play HS ball and Ghost and I played Juniors when we were younger. Good times

Chacin has shoulder tightness or something... Guess who is apparently going to come up to fill the spot in the rotation?

flying27's very own favourite, Dustin McGowan.

PJ-34
04-30-2007, 08:30 PM
That's a good pic, McGowan has played very well in Syracuse and is coming off a great 6.0 inning performance in which he allowed 1 earned run on only 3 hits. Another pic I would have gone to is Geremi Gonzalez who jsut won today 3-0, he is 2-1 with a 2.75 ERA.
