It would be nice to see Jeff Francis have a good outing tonight...

Yeah we could really use a good outing by Jeff. But if we swung the bats like we did yesterday we will be fine

I noticed that the current issue of Sports Illustrated (the one with Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash on the cover) has a story about Matt Holliday and Garrett Atkins, talking about how they will be the sparks of a potent offense. Let's hope the first 20 games were just a slump and that the offense does become potent for the last 142 games.

oop's I forgot to put the days on that post.
I think Francis will get his location going and be fine. Cook with bullpen and run support could very well be 3-1 or 2-1 instead of that 0-1 record he has.
We are still outta sync with are SP since the Francis suspension and injuries.
1 Cook
2 Buchholz
3 Fogg
4 Hirsh
5 Francis
That could change since the rockies had yesterday off.

The Rockies certainley have had their oppertunities against the Braves but can't come thru with a clutch hit.
In the 1st game that the Rockies lost 9-7 Holliday came within a foot of clearing the bases for a 10-9 win and in the 2nd game that the Rockies lost 6-2 the Rockies had plenty of chances against Smoltz early on before the ol' boy settled in.
========================
Runners left in scoring position, 2 out: Hawpe 3; Holliday; Torrealba; Tulowitzki.
Team LOB: 9.

Hope they score some runs for Cook today. Cook has thrown 2 great games and 2 good games and has a 0-1 record to show for it.
