I know this is a highly subjective question ... but for me it is Topps '65. I was six years old and even though I had seen '64s, the 65s just "clicked" for me. Loved the colors, flags, everything. Still do! I also love how prominent the teams' 1964 finish sits on the team cards. It is like, "in your face."
Of course they don't have 10 places in baseball standings anymore, but if they did, they probably wouldn't allow you to list standings in today's world. Too harsh and depressing!

1953 Topps. Despite a somewhat lackluster checklist, it was the first set my Dad actually completed.

For me it is 1993 Topps because it is the first set that I ever completed

Me too! That's a great set.

The 1982 Topps set was the first set my brother and I completed. We also did 84 and 78, but the first one stands out. The 1985 Topps set was the first one I did on my own, start to finish, buying packs and singles, and that also has a special place in my heart. I picked up a starter set, about half the cards, for 1980 at a live auction, and I probably put more effort into that set than any other, seeing it was the first past set I worked on.

My parents got me the 1990 Bowman complete set for Christmas when I was 8. Of course, I opened the set and mixed all the cards in with the rest of mine, traded them, etc. I want to get a box of 1990 Bowman and try to build that set, just to look at all those cards again. Before I do that, I need to get rid of a bunch of the cards I have now.

Well, a T-206 set would make ME tingle

1975 Topps. First set I seriously collected (8 years old). I got within 10 cards of completing the set that year and I bought the missing cards a few years later. I've upgraded the cards over the years, but I still have those original beat up cards from that year. :)

I've always been partial to the 1968 Topps set for much the same reasons as others; it was the first I completed. The style was sort of ugly really, but for 'tingle' and sentimental value, that's the one. It also has the Ryan and Bench rookie cards, that I enjoy having.
