I am a Sophomore at Hopkins High School, playing on the Sophomore team at the large high school in suburban minneapolis,mn. I have been a consistantly solid hitter ever since little league, but up until my last game, i have gone 0-8 with 8 k's this season. We are 3-3, and have the potential to be the best team in the conference (of sophomore teams). I consider myself the best solid defensive catcher on the team, but have seen my playing team decrease because of my inability to hit the baseball. I batted in the 3 spot on my summer traveling team a year ago, and hit over .400. I felt OK coming into this season, but haven't been able to get things going. I know i have the ability to hit for average and power. I got a single and a stolen base as a pinch hitter during my last game, this past friday (4-20) vs. Armstrong. It was a big deal for me, giving me a confidence boost. ANY and ALL help will be considered and appreciated greatly. Thanks. :baseball:
You need to master the strike zone so you swing at nothing but good pitches to hit. While you're practicing your ability to recognize a strike, try bunting for a hit. Good luck.

It helps not to get frustrated, and don't try to hard, if you go up there thinking I have hit, i have to hit, you more than likely won't, go up there and be relaxed, and you'll break out in no time

it's hard to give advice when we can't see ur swing. i know for me when i strike out a couple times in a row i realize my back foot is way to fare behind my front foot in my stance so im not seeing the ball stright infront im seeing it on the side makeing it harder to hit. maby try thinking back to the way u were hitting with ur travel club and see if there is a diffrence between ur swings. or the pitcher might of got better.

dude, its all mental. according to joe moragn its something liek 90% of all slumps are mental. don't think about it, and just try to make contact.

Well I'm glad things are much better but if they get bad again it may be because you are pulling off of the ball and your head is coming out. I've recently been in a slump and that was my problem. Hope this helps.
