A-Rod has a .351-10-26 line so far when the Yankees desperately need offense. Good for him.

Maybe now the NY fans will finally appreciate the best player they have had in a long while.

Until he has a 2 hr week...
Well, what, there are like 25 weeks in a baseball season?
25 weeks * 2 HR's/week = 50 HR's Even that isn't too shabby.
In fact, only Mantle, Ruth, and Maris have hit 50+ as a Yankee.

It looks like A-Rod entered the 2007 season on a mission. But A-Rod could hit 100 HRs, drive in 220 runs, and slugs .940, and ElHalo will still hate him.

It looks lik A-Rod entered the 207 season on a mission.
And in a time machine.

I really think it is a great thing that A-Rod is doing what he is doing. I'm not a Yankee fan by any stretch of the imagination, although I do appreciate some of their players, but, after all the stuff that he took last year from the press and from the fans, to come out and do what he is doing is truly amazing. A beautiful slap in the face.
He's carrying them at this point.

Do they have any 3B prospects if he leaves?

Prospects? Can't they just go out and buy the next big thing at 3rd?

Nope, at least not that would be ready by next year. Eric Duncan played 3B but was moved to 1B last year as that seemed to be a more likely path to the Majors. I suppose Duncan could be moved back, but I don't think he was that good defensively at 3B and he really hasn't shown much improvement as a hitter and barring sudden and dramatic improvement, it's not looking like he'll be Major League ready next year. If A-Rod leaves in the offseason, the Yankees will almost certainly look to outside the organization for a 3Bman. The free agent market for 3B isn't looking that promising with Mike Lowell appearing to be the best at this point.

There is no way they could buy a player as good as A-Rod because none exists.

I really could have done without the walk-off grand slam against the Orioles the first Saturday of the season.
My ultimate would be for A-Rod to tear it up and the Yankee$ still fail to make the playoffs because of their pitching. Since when did they decide they were the Texas Rangers? :twocents:

Thanks A-Rod, putting my fantasy team in first.

With his power hitting so far this year - another dinger today at Tampa Bay making it 13 (and 3 for 3 in 6th) - I am waiting for someone to start asking
What is he on??
From what I have seen (and all we seem to be getting on TV this season are Yankees games  - last 3 have been Yankees v Sox twice and todays game at Tampa Bay) I think he is taking Happy Pills, Confidence Shots, and Good Attitude Juice!

most Yankee fans are still going to hate him because he hasn't done it late in the season, or in post season, or against the Red Sox consistently.
Thats not to diminish what he has done because it is truly astounding and likely record breaking.
