I don't know if anyone else has noticed, or said anything, but it seems to me that offense is a bit down this season.

This is the AL:
2007: .247/.318/.392
2006: .275/.339/.437

And the NL:
2007: .253/.329/.388
2006: .265/.334/.427

Both leagues are also scoring fewer runs.

AL:
2007: 4.44 Runs/game
2006: 4.97 Runs/game

NL:
2007: 4.22 Runs/game
2006: 4.76 Runs/game

So teams in both leagues are scoring about 1/2 a run a game less, and that's pretty noticeable.

Is there anything to this? Or is it just a slow start and it will pick up. I don't expect it to be exactly the same each year, but 1/2 a run/game I think is considerable...but maybe it isn't. So what do you guys think?

I also should also note that pitching has been very good this year, already a 1 hitther and a no hitter having been thrown this season.

It's the delays and cold. Once the 4th and 5th starters have to pick up doubleheaders in July or August, runs will surpas normal over that stretch.

It would really be low but most aces have been pushed back by the delays rather than kept on a more normal schedule. Pros and cons either way.

Just looking at my fantasy league. There is some good pitching going on.
weather could be a factor as mentioned. My team (the Astros) are having no problems scoring lately. but the first week they did. the back end of our rotation has pitched great also.
I think you need to wait till the sample size is larger and these margins will diminish.
