School Project

Im in a class about Current Issues in highs chool, and we need to do a powerpoint project about something current, but somewhat useful to society. For instance, steroid scndal would be gold for this, Cardinals World Series would be nothing and Id have to find a different topic. I would like to do mine on the outrageous salaries in baseball today and it can be approved if I can think of angles to work with that go beyond what the salaries are. For instance, what causes them, what does baseball do to support them. I am asking 2 questions...

A. What else could I do to add more fuel to my topic, other sub topics I can use for the salaries

and

B. Are there any other topics you can think of that are somewhat important to society other than the steroid scandal that you guys can think of?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I am really hoping I dont gotta go to some topic that bores me like Imus or GLobal Warming. Thank You.

Ok, I have decided upon the salary thing because I have found enough angles to make an interesting powerpoint. SO far I have gotten Motives for teams to make big salaries, player/agent demands, history of the salary in baseball, effects on society and salary cap. Are there any subtopics yall can think of?

i would include the growth in new revenue streams over the last decade and how that has helped fuel the latest spending spree. by way of introduction, you could start with the 1869 red stockings and compare george wright's salary to arod (or the whole team to the yankees). good luck on the project.
