I don't know a whole lot about the selection of contributors/builders to the HOF or the J.G. Taylor Spink Award (although I do know it requires you to be a member of the BBWAA which James is not as far as I know) but his writings are pretty significant. I'd be interested to see if anyone here thinks he deserves either honor.

We had this huge, nasty, and long winded debate in 2006. BBF was esentially split 50-50.
