I thought this might be interesting, though i don't feel like starting off with an example right now.

The point of this thread, is to right about Injuries that MLB teams currently have, because most of us don't go to every MLB teams page every day to see whats new. You can say how it is and will effect the team, who is replacing him, how he is doing, and discuss about it.

I think it would be interesting, lets see if anyone else would like to do this.

one more thing, it should be a recent injury, don't talk about Pedro Martinez or Liriano.

Just a list of the Reds' DL list.
Bill Bray-No Effect (Jon Coutlangus)
Chris Denorfia-big effect, was going to be last bench player, now Chad Moeller
Jerry Gil-No Effect (Chad Moeller)
Eddie Guardado-Strong impact, now relying on David Weathers
Norris Hopper-small effect, was going to compete with Denorfia for bench spot (Chad Moeller)
Jeff Keppinger-No Effect (Chad Moeller)
Elizardo Ramirez-No Effect (Matt Belisle)
Jared Burton-Little Effect, allowed Jon Coutlangus to stay, was actually replaced by Eric Milton

yankees are without their ace Wang until the end of the month (on 15 day dl) Prospect Rasner is filling his spot, but didn't do to hot in his first game.

Just a list of the Reds' DL list.Their Disabled List list :laugh? Seriously though, they have alot of injuries. Wow.

Anyways, they Jays currently only have two guys on the DL. Davis Romero has a torn labrum, and is out for the season. Odds are he wouldn't be on the 25-man anyways.

Also, John Thompson is out with shoulder problems as well (he had a frayed labrum last season). It doesn't really matter much anyways. The Jays signed three starters in the off-season, and the other two (Tomo Ohka and Victor Zambrano) have pitched well. If a pitcher should happen to get hurt, Thomson might be a candidate for a spot. He will most likely be out until mid-May (at the earliest).

I forgot to mention, Matsui is injured once again for the yankees, he is on the 15 day DL. I don't think Melky Cabrera has missed a game yet this year :D so much for worrying that he won't have enough playing time. The yankees called up Thompson to fill in for Matsui. (how about signing bernie?)

The Orioles have lost Kris Benson for the season, have Ramon Hernandez on the DL, as well as Jay Payton. Not a great way to open the season. Plus Jaret Wright left early yesterday with shoulder soreness.

:ughh.

BJ Ryan is on the 15-day DL. They're talking about possible Tommy John.

Reed Johnson is on the 15-day DL. Bad back.

Troy Glaus is out temporarily with bone spurs in his heel.

Astros Injured:

Jason Jennings (they're calling it "tendonitis") - could be a huge impact for us since he's our #2 starter.

Brandon Backe (had TJ surgery) - would be our #2 starter in front of Jennings. more noticeable a loss since there's no more Pettitte/Clemens in the rotation.

Kaz Matsui 15 day DL with back spasms, Sunday.

BK Kim 15 day DL with a contusion to his thumb. Monday.

For the Rockies.

Orioles update:
60-day DL: Kris Benson
15-day DL: Ramon Hernandez, Jay Payton, Jaret Wright
3-day bereavement leave: Corey Patterson (his grandfather died last weekend)

Patterson could be back Wednesday. Hernandez may rejoin the team this week, followed shortly by Payton and Wright. Kris Benson has probably thrown his last pitch as an Oriole.

I like the Jays depth. I think we will be alright until these big guns come back. The bullpen will rally with a commitee type closer and Lind is doing fine in left field. My main concern is what to do at third until Glaus comes back.

Mike Hampton: out for the season, once again. The Braves signed Mark Redman so they wouldn't have to trade to get anybody. So far, that has not paid off.
Lance Cormier: arm problem, should be able to go to the rotation and kick out Redman.
Chad Paronto: strained hamstring, I think. Peter Moylan is a junk-baller and not exactly the best replacement for Paronto.
Macay McBride: call this an injury of no control. :p Steve Colyer was called up and he pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings yesterday, so that seems to be improved already.
Tanyon Sturtze: Still out with that surgery recovery. He's another candidate to replace Redman, though I don't think that he'll be any better.

Thankfully, there are no injuries on batters to report. But there is:

Willy Aybar: he was suspended for three days for being AWOL from the team. After all those injury problems he had in spring training, he seems to be a bit of damaged goods.

Gustavo Chacin, Victor Zambrano, John Thompson and Brandon League out on the 15-day DL. BJ Ryan is done for the season. Gregg Zaun is still out for a few more weeks, and Reed Johnson won't be back until July.

And now, I have a feeling that Halladay is injured. Two horrible starts in a row doesn't happen to him for no reason... :ughh :ughh

Braves injury update:

Lance Cormier - 15-day DL, strained right triceps
Mike Hampton - 15-day DL, elbow tendon surgery, out for season
Mark Redman - 15-day DL, ingrown toenail (not as farfetched as it sounds)
Tanyon Sturtze - 60-day DL, rotator cuff surgery recovery
Bob Wickman - 15-day DL, back tendinitis, will return next week
Brayan Pena - 15-day DL, concussion symptoms

Willy Aybar is a different case: he appears to have a drug addiction problem. If he gets clean, he may be reinstated to the team, but that remains to be seen. I hope that he gets better.

Roy Halladay is out 4-6 weeks for the Jays, while Troy Glaus left the game in the 1st inning, limping off the field...

Damn, poor Jays, this is looking pathetically bleak now.

Wait till next year. :dismay:

Canadian Sean Hill was replaced in the fifth inning of tonight's Nats-Marlins game and he had a no-hitter going.

Bill Bray-Could really use his help but not coming for a while (Left Index Finger)
Jerry Gil-Not going to help this season (Tommy John Surgery Right Elbow)
Eddie Guardado-Could come back 5/31, really need him (left elbow)
Eric Milton-According to Reds Beat Writer and HOFer Hal McCoy, Milton said to Pithcing Coach Dick Pole he hadn't been healthy since 2002, don't see him coming back for a while (left elbow)
Elizardo Ramirez-Has no future with Reds, may be treated like Chris Denorfia (right shoulder)
