My boy is 11 and I don't allow him to throw a true curve. He does throw what we call a "football curve". He doesn't twist his arm or anything so the pitch is safe. The ball curves down a little but not much...it's actually a great way to throw something off speed that moves just a little bit. The way you throw it is simple....you just throw the baseball like it's a football. It has a natural spin that causes the ball to dip down just a little.

I'm not sure about kids in your age but many kids in his age can't hit his football curve, esp. if they are sitting on his fastball.

Properly thrown a curve is no more harmful than a fastball. The key word being properly thrown. You can't learn it online. You need to have someone teach it to you. You also need a coach who recognizes when your mechanics are failing.
