Hey all!

I know a lot of you collect autos in person... So I wanted to pass this along. I was introduced to a new pen called a Staedtler. These things are awesome! This thing writes on glass, steel, plastic- and glossy cards with out smearing! (best feature- the ink drys INSTANTLY!) Check out some art stores near you to find them. They come in fine point or medium point... Be sure to get blue (which looks the best, IMO) or black.

I can post some pics of Staedtler signed cards if any of you dudes are interested...

Sounds like an invaluable resourse for autograph collectors. I searched on eBay and Staedtler makes a variety of pens and markers. Is there a specific "model" of this pen that we could look for at an office supply store that is that one you're talking about? I'll need it for my next Rochester Red Wings game.

OK, to answer questions I received from some of you already... Yep, Staedtler makes pens in different colors and tip sizes. F= fine point; M= Medium. (see pic of signed cards below) The pens cost about $3 each, but I bought several in one shot and got a discount. Lastly, and most important- you do NOT need to mess with any baby powder, erasers or rubbing the cards with fingers or paper towels. The pen is dry-safe and immediately adheres to the card. I've tried it on Bowman Chrome & refractor cards even with perfect success!

Here is the FINE POINT pen... The MEDIUM looks similar but has an M on it.

Here are 3 samples: The Helton and Macri cards are signed with BLUE FINE POINT; Mabry is signed with BLUE MEDIUM.

Sorry about the crappy images, my camera really sucks indoors!

HudsonHarden has a scan of a Steve Finley card in the April thread. Check that out- it's a good example of the thin Staedtler.
