I have been on a 8x10 "kick" lately. Buying unsigned 8x10's of retired players and sending them to them to sign for me.
So which leads me to ask: What CURRENT MLB players can I send an 8x10 to for them to sign? Any success' that you have?
Thanks,
Tony

Tony-

I would take a shot at any of the current MLB players that have signed through the TTM thread. I know for sure that Steve Trachsel and Garret Anderson are near guarantees to sign for you and both have very nice signatures.

Thanks.

Would it be in poor taste to ask a current ballplayer to personalize it for me?

I always ask the retired players to do it for me and they all have graciously obliged.

Definately not in poor taste and probably preferred by current players (if they read the letter). By personalizing the photo, it cuts down on the potential for resale, which is preferred by many current players.

Yeah, when it comes to photos I would prefer that they were inscribed. And your right also... I don't want to give the player a idea that I am going to sell it on eBay or something.

Hmmm this is kind of ironic. This is a response (one of the many negative responses) I got when I asked the same question (pretty much) except I was talking about cards.

There's a difference between sending two cards in the mail with 2 39 cents stamps, as opposed to me buying an 8x10 photo for $5, buying the LARGE envelopes to mail them ,and with all of the postage. Kinda more $ involved.
In laymen's terms sending 8x10's has more of a risk involved then sending two cards.
P.S.
I know what you are referring to, so if you would like to discuss anything about that please contact me via private messaging.

This may or may not help, but I've sent a total of 3 8X10s and and am 1/3
Ernie Harwell took 6 days (which included a Sunday and Monday holiday) to go from CA to MI and back.

Don Wert an Lance Parrish didn't return the team photos I sent on 8/24/06
