Does anyone think Jose Reyes is or will become the best Mets shortstop ever/ Hey' he already has my vote! He has some power, his walks are rising, he runs like a cheetah, and he has a great arm and fielding awareness at short! Would anyone else like to add on to this?

He doesn't have all that much competition. The Poll to pick the best Mets team already has him winning the SS job.

His only real competition at this point for best SS ever is Bud Harrelson, maybe Ordonez. I think he is already there, but a couple more years and it will be indisputable

As far as fielding goes, Ordonez might be the most unbelievable SS I've ever seen.

As far as all-around, if he's not the best Met SS ever yet, he will be in about a month. :hyper:

Only Harrelson and Ordonez have more AB's than Reyes and they were dreadful offensive players. Both were fine defenders with Ordonez actually being exceptional. But, they are really poor competition to anyone let alone a gifted player like Reyes.

Did you know that Reyes is one of only a handfull of players all-time to have led MLB in both triples and stolen bases in the same year?

It seems like something like that should've already happened multiple times but I'll take your word for it.
