I am amazed at how far Mike Hinckley has fallen in such a short amount of time. 2 years ago, he was ranked #1 on this list.

Yikes, i agree. Most of these players, especially the top 10 or so, sadly don't figure to be very close to being in the bigs, probably won't surface till '09 or '10. But if the top 10 do prove to be average to above average major league players once and if they hit the bigs i think that the Nationals could be set for several years after.

Afterthought.
Whatever happened to Brandon Harper, or something, i think his name was? The OF they called up in '05 when they were trying to get the offense going?

Brandon Harper is the no.1 catcher for the Columbus Clippers, the Nats' AAA affiliate.

Brandon Watson was placed on waivers on the 14th of July last year by the Nats and was claimed by the Cincinnati Reds, with whom he played a total of 1 game in the major leagues. During the 2006-07 offseason, he became a UFA and signed a Minor-League deal with the Detroit Tigers with whom he currently is, at AAA.

thanks, i never understood what they didn't like about him, i thought he looked like a potentially pretty solid major leaguer.

Crash Davis as in Kevin Costner's character in Bull Durham who played an aging career minor league catcher.

Except his average, he could be an average major leaguer...

he definately had the speed on the bases and in the field, i never really noticed his average hitting, and he seemed like he had the power for 10-12 homeruns at some point in his career.

and have you bothered to see how much better he has been pitching this year??
