Hey everyone.
Since last time I posted in this section of the forum, I worked on my mechanics and I feel I have become a better pitcher. I used to have shoulder and elbow pain which I do not feel anymore. My question though was..what would be a good schedule to put myself on for pitching? Like how many days should I wait per throwing and how many pitches should I throw (approx.)? All this help is appreciated. Thank you.

There are many opposing theories on this. My belief is that pitchers do not throw enough these days. Understand, I don't mean pitch, but throw. When I was your age, playing catch was just about part of every day, once it got warm enough to throw here in the East. Like any other muscle in your body, your arm needs to be strong in order to get the most out of it. While I was never a prospect, I threw hard in highschool and pitched a bit in college. I never had a sore arm until I tore my rotator cuff in 1997 when I decided to play ball again in the MSBL. When I took the mound for my first start in Fairfield Connecticut, I felt like I was 16 again and thought that I could just erase 15 years of inactivity and blow it by everyone again. What an idiot!

Here is a book that I would strongly reccomend for you to read:

http://www.amazon.com/Art-Pitching-Tom-Seaver/dp/068813226X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-2974025-5309661?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1175006239&sr=1-1

Chapter 8, THE MAINTENANCE OF PITCHING FITNESS, pretty much outlines a course you may want to think about following in order to take care of your arm. Seaver, one of the All-Time greats, in my opinion had the best mechanics I've ever seen and had a long career.

I wish I had the desire you seem to have about gathering information for a possible future in pitching. Best of luck to you!

I think I'll have to check that book out. See, I'm really interested because I wanna pitch but I don't wanna mess my arm up. Last year I was constantly getting a sore elbow and sore shoulder after throwing 10-15 pitches. After I taped myself pitching..alot of people helped me out. And ever since then, I've tuned my mechanics up. Everyone here has helped me out alot. And I wanna thank you all for that.
