I won multiple Gold Gloves, yet I cost one pitcher a no-hitter when I let the opposing pitcher drop a bunt in front of me for the only hit by the opposition and I cost another pitcher a perfect game when I made an error to allow the only opposing baserunner.

Neither of these gaffes was with the team I am most closely associated with, though one of them was against them.

The guy was also an MVP, but not an HoFer. He did hit for the cycle more than once.

Is it Ken Boyer? I know that he won multiple Gold Gloves, and he might have cost the Mets a no-hitter in a game against the Cards because of playing deep at third.

Playing 1st for the Mets he played back on Cardinal pitcher Ray Sadecki (it was a two-strike count) and Sadecki bunted for the only hit off of Jack Hamilton. Later as a member of the White Sox he cost Joel Horlen and error by making an error and allowing the only runner to reach base.
