the pitch data is available on Retrosheet. Anyone of us could do this, BRef is the first website though that has made it easily accessible. Kudos to Forman!

Where on Retrosheet? Is it with the box scores and play by play data?

Pitch data is in the event files, and it may also be available separately...B-Ref is starting to work much more closely with retorsheet now and we're getting the rewards of that partnership.
