This is another one I feel is long overdue.

Does anyone else miss seats this close?

Sometime in Comiskey's final season(s).

Nice picture. Yeah, I absolutely miss seats being that close. You're taking giant leaps backwards with the HOK formation. Keep the pictures rolling.

July of '79 it was hot and they wanted nothing to do with disco.....

Elvis has a great view from the field on his website of this night, maybe we can talk him into posting it.
Note the "Disco Sucks!" banner hanging from the upperdeck in left center.

From the cars in the parking lot this looks to be 40's sometime.

The Southside's ganglord takes in a game. Notice how he and his "son" (he reportedly took a stand in out into public with him) are surrounded by guards, he had more protection than Calvin Coolidge!

Also note how the bodyguard behind him in the second picture is reaching for his gun after being startled by a vendor!
Sorry the second one is so small.

I bet after the new stadium opened a lot of Southsiders felt ripped off.

That's all for now, more to come.

You know if a design company would just take a chance and find a way to build one with an over deck that went that far over the lower bowl while have the very small amounts of foul territory they have now I think it would be the most popular park in baseball.

Do you or does anyone have the picture of when Veeck put a midget in to pinch hit with the jersey number 1/4? Maybe it was 1/2, still funny.

I would bet he probably fell over from that swing. I wonder if this was in the same at bat that he slugged the All-Star's first homer.

Tuesday, April 19, 1938 Comiskey Park Chicago: Hank Greenberg, the Detroit Tigers' slugging first baseman, belts a home run in the fifth inning of the season opener between the White Sox and Tigers as Tony Rensa, White Sox catcher, and Umpire Cal Hubbard watch the feat. Despite Greenberg's heroics, the White Sox won the opener 4-3. (Corbis)
