View Full Version : >20 W <200 IP in a season
Who is (the only one??) to do this? 20+ wins, less than 200 IP
(I stumbled on this guy, and this stat, not sure if he is the only one or not)

The title should be >=20 W <200 IP in a season as both Grim and Pedro won exactly 20 games.

I noticed that when Roy Face won 18 in 1959 he did it in only 93.3 innings.
wow! can we get Retrosheet on that? I would be curious to see the game by game!

I'm pretty familiar with Face's season, I've read a few different articles on it. The best place to get game-by-game for Face is BR. Here's a link to his page http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/gl.cgi?n1=facero01&t=p&year=1959

Interesting, his team was only a couple games over .500 and their projected w/l record was a few games below .500 but they were 33-23 when he pitched.

Lefty Grove 1931 is the only pitcher with 30+ wins and fewer than 300 innings. No pitcher has won 40 with fewer than 400 innings. Nor has any pitcher won 50 with fewer than 500.
