I Looking into Starting a Vintage Baseball league .But Im not sure what to do about Rules ..I know they have a rules site at 19c baseball. com ..but what are the age requirements and who is to decide what era or year they play by .1880,1890,1900. and what about the umpires .do you Just get anyone to call the games . Any Info on Vintage Baseball appreciated.

Go to www.vbba.org and see if your questions are all answered there. There are other websites that can help you too.

You might want to check into where the nearest teams are that play vintage ball and contact them. Find out what year(s) of ball they like to play. They would probably be happy to answer your questions and help you get organized.

Someone who is too old to play would be a likely candidate to be your umpire. That would be me if I ever succeeded in forming a team where I live. That person must be fluent in all of the rules for the year you are playing and know them better than the players or cranks. Good Luck!
