How are you guys feeling about the upcoming season? I think this could be a good one for us, considering the A's and Mariners didnt get any better, and the Angels acquired little, but did take Matthews from us. Even with that being said, everyones a contender in this division.
But I think Mccarthy will be a great addition, as well as Gange and Cat. The bullpen seems to be shaping up as one of the best in awhile, and we havent had the best bullpens ever. The rotation ought to be a good one, and if one guy seems to be lacking, we have plenty of depth.
The only sour spot I see is in the lineup. 1.Lofton 2.Kinsler 3.Young 4.Teixera. Then who? I mean Sosa wont be the same as he use to be, but will he produce HRs at all??
Well just seeing what you guys think about the upcoming season

I am optimistic, but there are a lot of holes to fill. I am extremely worried about our starting pitiching. Hank has to have a big year. I am really hoping that Botts or some other rookie has a big year as well.

if sosa is hitting i think he'll hit 5th or 6th
you might throw in wilk in there as well if he is back healthy. maybe a combination of say blalock against righties and sosa against lefties in the 5 hole then you have wilk, cat, laird and cruz in some order filling it all out. i am hopefull to see more of botts if he has a good spring. it will definately be an interesting year

yeah, i really hope cruz develops into a good player. I think by the end of the year, if everything goes well, you might see cruz or botts hitting 5th or 6th. I think are starting pitching is better than last year. millwood padilla and mccarthy will give us some good games if we give them some offense. i would like to see Loe get in the starting lineup, as well as see byrd play some. should be interesting.

also, id really like to see how the Rangers use catcher Chris Stewart this year. I've watched stewart and this guy has some talent for a young minor leaguer. If laird doesnt get the job done, i hope Chris will come in for him.

I think Larid will be a solid catcher. I am a little worried about our offenses consistancy. They can putup numbers but seem to lump the runs in 1 game of hte series. If this changes our chances drastically improve. Pen is good, starting staff could be a lot better (fingers crossed) I hope Botts isn't the odd man out. I think he could really be a help but Sosa is going to get the majority of the ABs at DH if he plays.

Is Botts supposed to make the team this year. I'm not a Rangers fan at all (Tigers fan) but I'm really hoping Botts turns out to be great (he's from Paso Robles, CA as am I).

Jon Daniels was interviewed on The Ticket yesterday, and it sounds like Botts probably won't make the team. He just isn't hiting yet. JD said that Botts unfortunately might be the odd man out.
Paso Robles you say? I went to high school in Lompoc. We played baseball against the Robles several times.

I am looking forward to this year. I think we have a good chance at being a contender.
I know we have a few guys that will need to step up their game and a few that will need to keep with their game.
with all the changes it will be an interesting year.

I am very interested in seeing how these guys develop: Loe, Littleton, Feldman, Kinsler. I think these guys have something special, and I am hoping that Ron Washington will bring the best out in these guys.

It is pathetic, the rangers are just as bad as the royals so far.
