Looks like Barry has changed his delivery and it's causing a stir.

Uh, why don't I think this is a good idea?? Then again, Bonds changed his swing, Tiger Woods changed his swing, and those worked out. :laugh

When great players make adjustments, the results are often positive. If he can tweak his delivery to get more velocity, and still be able to stay on top of his curve, then good for us. But I wouldn't expect the transition to be intantaneous. As long as he gets it figured out in sp. training I'm all for it.

It'll be an ongoing thing, as he began working on it only a month or so ago.

He still seems to be pitching pretty well, but there'll probably be setbacks here and there. But he's changing his mechanics for the better, so in the long-run, it's all good

I think Zito should experiment. If he can get a couple of MPH onto that fastball, push it up to 92 or 93, I think it could really help shorten the hitter's reaction time and make the curveball more effective.

zito zito zito, hes always looking to change somthing because he gets so nervous while pitching, thats why i never though zito would be good on the giants, no offense but they dont have the best infield, and zito gets alot of ground balls with his curve ball workin so well. the giants park is a bad hitters park for lefties so lets just hope zito's stuff can keep it in the park.

Zito will be fine...why you ask? Well I say this for a few reasons

1.) Moving to the NL should help him...not having to face a DH will work in his favor.

2.) He pitches in the NL West. The best hitter in that division, not on his team, is Nomar Garciaparra. The D-Backs have young talent, but it will take a while for them to get to be better than Nomar.

3.) SBC Park, he's a fly ball pitcher and that place is pretty big. He's a great fit there.

4.) He always out performs his perpherials and is good for 15+ wins a season. He gets a lot of flyballs, doesn't strike out the most guys, walks more than he should...but he pulls it out.

No need to worry about Zito

5.) He'll be comfortable there...he moved acrossed the bridge, I bet he didn't even have to buy a new house (although I'm sure he could afford several)

I was in AZ last weekend and Zito looked very sharp in his final ST start. Nothing to worry about, he looks primed for a great season.
