I'd also include former AL All-Star and ex-Dolphin John Jaha. Also, ex-Perth Heat player Damon Buford.

You'd probably love this book, especially if you love baseball history. A great read.

There is a great deal written about 19th century Australia.

"Lamster paints a picture of sporting goods icon Albert Goodwill Spalding at the end of the nineteenth century, suited up and on a mission to spread the American gospel of baseball (and expand his business opportunities in the process). For six months in 1888, Spalding and two baseball teams went on a globe-spanning goodwill tour, endorsed by President Cleveland, to introduce the national American sport to the world. As Spalding books a convoy of camels to carry the touring group to the pyramids in Egypt and attempts to hire out the Coliseum in Rome, his grandiloquent business sense is rendered in all its color and force. Lamster's descriptions are careful and precise, but overly detailed scenes can become tiresome-from a sumptuous gala at Delmonico's in New York to Clicquot toasts in Australia with the mayor of Sydney, Lamster indulges in pages of the tourists' luxuriating. Influenced by P. T. Barnum and credited with fabricating the mythology of baseball that we still hold dear, Spalding's impact on the sport is obvious, and this account of his world tour should please fans of baseball and marketing mavens alike."

I have found out the following about Pat Kelly!!

Pat Kelly left the New York Yankee World Series celebrations to find himself in the most spiteful brawl in the ABL's eight year history!
After missing most of the season with a shoulder injury, Kelly planned to spend the off-season with his Adelaide-born wife in Australia.
The Yankees second baseman agreed to play with the Giants, thanks largely to the persuasive powers of Hitaaf Rashid, one of ABL's most tireless front office workers. In Kelly's first game he found himself playing against Melbourne Monarchs at Altona when a bench-clearing brawl erupted.
Welcome to the ABL, Mr Kelly.
Clearly rusty from missing so much playing time, Kelly took time to find his feet. Just when he was beginning to make his presence felt, word has it, the Yankees rang to say he had to report to winter ball in Venezuela.
Apparently, George Steinbrenner read of the brawl in Baseball Weekly, was surprised to find Kelly playing in the ABL and demanded he report to a less hostile league closer to home.
Begrudgingly, Kelly agreed bringing to an end to his short but eventful stay in the ABL.
Kelly was one of six players who had US major league experience before making a contribution to the ten year history of the ABL.

ABL of course being Australian Baseball League!!
