I have been a lurker on this site for some time. I have finally decided it is time for some help on my kids swing. Some problems I have been able to fix just by reading what all of you say about other swings. iI guess I have just been intimadated by possibly not understanding your advice. I have a digital camera with video can someone tell me how to put it on here?

I was in your shoes last year. I too was afraid I would not understand much of the advice given, but I have made an effort to understand and apply. I'm extremely grateful for those that have helped my son and me.

As far as posting from a digital camera, your camera should have a cable in which you can run from the camera to the USB port on your computer. You may or may not have a software disk that came with your camera, but many of the computers have a program that will load it for you. If you don't have a cable that came with your camera, your computer may be one that allows you to plug the memory card directly into your computer (mine allows this). After doing one of the above mentioned procedures, I usually save to "My Pictures". Once there, you are able to upload to a 'file hosting site' such as You Tube. There are others and I'm sure someone will share those with you, as well.

It is a great tool, and a great opportunity. I wish all the best for you and your son.

Any guesses on a good file size for clips? I can ask for more ban width here to allow us to post directly here.

By the way we live in Ohio and it is very cold here now so we can't go outside. In the video should I have him hitting off of a tee or just swinging and from what angles?....Thank you all very much

1. Create a clip using a digital camera
2. Download the clip to your computer
3. Open an account at You Tube - very easy
4. Download your clip to You Tube
5. Open the clip at You Tube and copy the url here in a message like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdQ1TgzUlzI

The url you need to copy is in a small box to the right of the clip once you bring it up.

If you are filming inside, at minimum you should probably have him hitting off of a tee into a tarp, net, or mattress (try not to have the tee raised too high...knee high to waist is good). You can even use baseball sized wiffle balls.

Be sure to have him go through all the motions (set-up, load, etc.) and not just step up and swing. Then, post it on 'You Tube', or another file hosting site and copy and paste the link in a thread here. After that, I'm sure that the outstanding collection of talent here will help you as they have done me.

I think people are better off just hosting them at YouTube instaed of trying to get more bandwidth here. Video files get very big. There are programs and sites people can use to download the video to their computer from YouTube.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the YouTube posted videos as we can't easily step through them. Does anyone have any tools to download/convert them?

If you go here: http://www.youtubex.com/, paste in the url of the video, then you can download it. Yes, YouTube is not the best for viewing videos. For someone to host videos tho would take a lot of bandwidth. I haven't found a way to convert YouTube videos yet. Unless someone out there with alot of bandwidth wants to host the videos.

MSandman,
Go to this link:http://www.zamzar.com/url/. You then paste in the URL of the YouTube in the box that says step 1. In step 2 scroll down the box to where it says MOV. Instep 3 you type in your email address and then in step 4 you click convert. When it is done you will get an email that take you to a page in a web browser with a download link. You download the video and save it. You can then view it in Quicktime. This will work for any video on YouTube under 100mb.

Does anyone know of a better site to host videos than Youtube or Photobucket? Also which format would be best?
