So you're Shoeless Joe? What problems did you have? You were one of the top 10 pure hitters the game has ever seen. :dance
Anyway. Is there any way to put that video on a post here, so it can be saved as a GIF? There's no way to save that in the Windows Media Player. If nothin' else, it could be made into a cool avatar. ;)

He would do fine. Look at what he did, with what was available in terms of equipment and knowledge of techniques and tendencies. He advances with everything else and would do fine while wearing his helmet as he steps up in small parks with perfect hitters backdrops, using the lightest/hardest bats available while pounding a rock hard ball with no seams off today's pitchers who throw to a zone the size of a grapefruit. And the luxury of huge guaranteed money would be sucha relief.

Always have, always will. The "Doc Brown Delorean" method of comparison is lame. Nothing against Jake, he was just asking a question, but it sorta touched a nerve.

Sarcasim?
The arguement comes up in baseball circles all the time. While I would tend to feel these guys were good and would have done well today, I have yet to see any scientific analysis of the game then compared to the game now. Personally, I feel the game has changed in subtle ways when you look at the game as a whole (As an example pitching speeds have not increased significantly for years. People feel guys like Satchell Page could throw 100 MPH in his prime- the point being there is no-one throwing 10% better or 110MPH). The sublties could have been easily overcome by the greatest who played, regardless of when they played....
