They are a little expensive for ash bats. One off the handle and you'll have enough wood to lightly smoke a fish.

I just looked at the site and they sound like a good company. I would wonder though if they actually hand turn and bone their bats. If they do, Thats Awesome. I haven't heard of any other manufacturer that produces bats for MLB doing this exclusively.
The prices are moderately high. You can get the same grade wood and models for much cheaper prices at 2 different companies.
www.talbotturnings.com is home of the "Chesapeake Thunder" baseball bats and they were once major league certified, until MLB wanted $10,000 for the cert. Mike Randolph is the owner and give personalized service. His bats go for $65 for Rock Maple and $45 for Birch.
www.nystix.com is another company with which you can get personalized service. Andre Jacobs is the owner and uses MLB grade wood but doesn't charge $80-100 for his Maple bats. He charges $55 for maple and $45 for ash and is running a special right now of $95 for two maple. As Andre puts it, "I dont pay for Major League certification so I can pass the savings on to my customers"
I have used bats from both Andre and Mike and both swing as good if not better than the $129 SamBats.
Just suggesting some other options.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions by PM
I received one last year from Manny Rameriz because he liked the handle on it and wanted a copy. I still have the bat. The bat seemed good. I do question the ring on the end of the barrel. According to the website they do the ring to "harden" the wood to keep it from flaking/delaminating. The problem is the bat Manny sent in is maple, they don't delaminate in the barrel like ash, so why the ring? I guess it might be a new kind of signature mark.

are you looking to just train with wood? you want a great bat try
metalwoodbats are half metal half wood.they are about 100 bucks and come with a reconditiononig tag for 50 bucks where they will replace the barrel and grip..I usually dont plug too many products but my son literally used his bat for two full seasons practicing, and with a cage in our yard he might have hit easily 10,000 baseballs a year. The bat FINALLY broke last week..hit one off the absolute end of the bat and barely cracked it,,,I sent it back and got my bat reconditioned and back in my hands in one week.Great guys too..
