Hi --
I haven't been to Yankee Stadium, Shea, or Philly yet. With Yankee Stadium closing next year, I'm considering making a trip out that way -- BUT, my wife won't be coming, so I want to stay out of downtown New York so we can do it together.
What I need help with, is how many parks can I get to from connecting subways or trains? Meaning, could I stay somewhere outside of downtown at a central location, and potentially train-it to Yankee, Shea, Philly -- Any others? (I've been to Boston, but can I connect to there?) How do I connect, etc.
I want to get a general plan of what I can do out there -- Where I can fly into and get to a maximum number of parks (Yankee Stadium included) without crossing into downtown so that I'm "saving it" for when my wife and I go (after the new Stadium opens).
Appreciate the help, it's OK to link me to websites, but give me a hand to. I looked at the New York subway map, and my eyes just kind of glazed over. :crazy
Thanks,
Doug
