Last month's results are posted. You are requested to pay particular attention to those individuals receiving 50% or more of the vote last month, as they are the most likely candidates to be elected this month. In fact, I have specific posts on players receiving 50% or more of last month's vote:

My February 2007 ballot
key:
red=Japanese League
blue=Negro Leagues
green=19th century
The biggest change in my ballot is dropping the contributors in accordance with the fact we're not going to be voting for them again until November, and then only annually. Last month, I voted for the elected Hugh Duffy, and he is replaced by Joe Kelley.

Average months on my ballot increased to 8.6, just missing a new record. This will likely grow as the electorate and mysef differ on whom we see as the Hall's lower tier. Lou Whitaker breaks Pete Rose's record for most months on my ballot. The top five that I think the electorate is missing: 1) Lou Whitaker, 2) Ken Boyer, 3-tie) Red Faber/Bid McPhee, 5) Da. Evans.

I was wonder about this, if he is still eligible, knowing this.
We voted for Rickey Henderson while he was playing in the Independent League. I think as long as he is not on an MLB roster, he's eligible.

Sammy is currently off ML rosters long enough to qualify, and up to now without any prospect of a comeback. During his playing days, he did enough to make him a lock for the HoF under our rules.
Still, I may consider dropping him and substituting another candidate to prevent the election of an active player. (Keep an eye on your p-mailbox, Jim!)
He is in a unique position, that's for sure.

If Sosa makes a major league roster, he becomes ineligible beginning the month of voting after he attains that status until at least November.

I'm glad to see that Minnie Minoso is already in your Hall Of Fame, so I won't have to stump for him (the fact that he and Buck O'Neil, the only living Negro Leagues candidates were rejected by Cooperstown 12 months ago, will always be disgraceful in my book).
Here's my picks for this year (subject to later additions, but not subtractions as I would never vote for someone and then later rescind my vote).
From the Negro Leagues: Oliver Marcelle - 3B
Alejandro Oms - OF
From the Japanese Leagues:
1.Isao Harimoto - OF
2.Shigeo Nagashima - 3B
* See Below
From the Majors: 3.Gil Hodges - 1B
Pitchers 4.Jim Kaat,5. Bert Blyleven and 6.Tommy John (You can't get that close to 300 wins without getting my vote for the HOF).
pitcher 7.Jack Morris - High ERA but still among the
most dominating pitchers of the last decades of th
e 20th century.
Outfielders 8.Jim Rice and 9.Andre Dawson.
and 10. Billy Southworth, a forgotton manager who
did nothing but win with the Cardinals in the '40's &
even took the hapless Boston Braves team to a
World Series in 1948.
Oms, one of the first Cuban stars in the Negro Leagues and possibly the slickest fielding thirdbaseman ever, Marcelle (who swung a good bat too) like Minoso and O'neil were rejected by Cooperstown one year ago.
Nagashima - think of someone who had an even better playing career than Joe Torre and then became just as successful a manager.
Harimoto - Its surprising that some of you super fans wouldn't have put Harimoto into your HOF already. Of Korean parentage, and therefore suffering a good degree of discrimination at the hands of Japanese fans, he still became the first hitter in Japanese baseball history to reach 3,000 hits - A remarkable acheivement considering that during the years he played from the late 50's until about 1980 the Japanese Leagues schedule was never more than 140 games and oftern as short as 130 games per year. He obviously also had one of the highest lifetime batting averages in those leagues' history and hit 400-500 Home Runs.
*I suppose I should limit myself to 10 votes like the Baseball Writers do but if I had an 11th vote I'd vote for the Japanese player, whose name escapes me who at one time held the professional consecutive games record. (over 2,500 consecutive games). (More than Gehrig) until Ripken passed both Gehrig and this player's record. This Japanese player was part black and mixed race in heritage, and so for some of the same reasons I elected Harimoto, I'd elect him ie: For his considerable baseball accomplishments while triumphing over discrimination in a Mono-Cultural Japanese society.

I'm glad to see that Minnie Minoso is already in your Hall Of Fame....
You will be happy to know that Harimoto, Nagashima, Blyleven, Andre Dawson and Billy Southworth are also in, and some of your other guys have enjoyed some support, or at least some debate.
This is the first of your posts that I've seen, so Welcome to the Fever! :waving It's good to have some fresh blood around here!
You might want to check out that post at the top again. It lays out the rules (25 men per ballot, alphabetically please, and we're only voting for players until November, when the Contributors once again become available), and it has links to show who all has been enshrined thus far.
I am looking forward to hearing more from you in the BBF HoF Discussion thread. You have obviously spent some time looking seriously at Negro Leaguers and Japanese players, which is a plus. (By the way, the player you are thinking of with the 2215 consecutive games streak is Sachio Kinugasa (http://baseballguru.com/jalbright/analysisjalbright01.html#Sachio_Kinugasa).)
See you 'round!

To 2Chance: Thanks for the welcome. I'm a little puzzled as to where to look for the complete, updated BBF-HOF list of honorees. There is one list, I saw. I suppose it was the original list of choices from a few years ago - but where is an updated, current list of members? I posted a few topics last Fall, then stopped internet service for a few months then came back again this month (2/07). My other new posts include one on Lew Burdette, called "Remebering Lew" - under Thanks Lew/ Milwaukee Braves/ Teams Of Yesteryear and one I wrote earlier today called "Andres for HOF - SI!, Two Managers-No!" under Is Andres Galaragga A Hall Of Famer - under Hall Of Fame Talk. Thanks again for the welcome and your interest in my opinions. I wrote a couple of times last Fall about the Negro Leagues election and their failure to select Minoso and O'Neil - particularly Minoso.I also wrote a little about the last St. Louis Browns team (1953), a brief period during WWII when the Browns were actually good, the oldest living major leaguer Rollie Stiles (St. Louis Browns), age 100, and of course my hometown Philadelphia Phillies.Thanks in advance for any directions you can give me about the current list of inductees. I also enjoy the Hall Of Corrections thread. It was funny and ironic that the same year as the Cooperstown Hall Of Fame voted in Bruce Sutter, after many years of struggle, your Hall Of Corrections voted him OUT! - Philly-brownsfan -

We finish tonight at midnight, so you may not have time to check out all the rules and plan a proper vote in time. However, if you look at the first post of each month's voting thread, I have links to lists of the entire set of electees, the rules, and the previous month's voting results. These posts are found in the monthly Albright's voting guide threads. If you submit a valid ballot in time, I will be happy to count it. If you can't catch up to the rules this month, feel free to participate next month.
