simple question; simple answer. how do you rate the Rangers offseason moves to this point assuming they dont make any major moves until the season begins?

I'll give them a "B". They've done nothing that will likely make a huge "splash", but I like some of their "minor" moves.
Why was the offseason bad? Its not wise to make wholesale changes.
They addressed their biggest needs: Greg Gagne may have been the best free agent signing and Brandon McCarthy may have been the best trade of the offseason. They have proven they routinely find hitters ready to peak.
Conversly, Mark DeRosa and Gary Mathews may have been the worst, considering they each may have had their one peak season and are both 32. As much as I like Mathews, he was over-hyped. He made highlight real catches but, was middle-of-the pack in PO totals for CF.
