El Mambo has pitched very poorly the last two years. But he has been pitching lights out in the Dominican Winter League playoffs the past few weeks. Do the Mets still own the rights to him? Do they have him under contract for 2007? You want to see Lima Time at Shea this year?

I personally do not want to see him pitch for us. Until he lowers his ERA, THEN he can pitch. Last time he pitched with the Mets was in May though...

Every team in the NL will chip in to cover his salary if the Mets will guarantee they will pitch him regularly.

Lima's gone. He's a Minor League free agent now, and the Mets have indicated they don't want to resign him. No more Lima Times...

I never want that man in a Mets uniform again. He was an insult to the team and he should get a haircut or just shave it all off because it's disgusting.:grouchy

You know, considering no team's yet invited him to Spring Training, he may retire.

The AL would love it too come interleague play.
Come on, who doesn't want to face a guy with 9.87 ERA and a WHIP over 2???
He's only really had to good seasons in his career ('98 and '99), since then, his ERA has been around - get this.... 6.00!!!!!!! And a WHIP around 1.500!!!!!!
Whatever he had, he lost it.
I just ran the numbers real fast and his ERA over that span was around 6.30 and his WHIP was around 1.530!!!
Seriously now, you may like the guy and all, but if you want to win....let someone else sign him.

He was respectable in 2004 with the Dodgers -- 13-5, 4.07 ERA (102 ERA+), WHIP of 1.245. I remember he had one big shutout in the pennant race too.
But I don't think he even has fumes left in the tank.
