Has anyone seen this before? Is it sought after?

Hartland Plastics issued the Willie Mays doll in 1960, and it originally sold for $1.98. It's naturally of more value today.
From the looks of your pic, yours is in pretty nice condition. Do you have the box it came in?

I had one of those when I was a kid. Him and Warren Spahn. I still have the Spahn but the Mays glove got broken off and got thrown out. Last time I looked the Mays was around $200, but that was quite awhile ago.

Thanks for the reply. No box.

The Mays is one of the more common players.
Mays sells for $100-$150 now..... If it is the original early 1960s statue.
Too bad you didnt have the box, the box is worth more than the statue. The tag is worth decent money too.
There are reproduction Hartland Statues that were made in 1988 (25th Anniversary edition) and look basically the same and had the same style box etc.., these (Mays) sell for $30-$50.

I've seen both anniversary and original versions of the Hartland Mint figures. Unless you took drastic measures to meticulously age the tag, my guess is that one is an original, made from 1958-1963. I've seen the Mays figures sell for as much as $300 in box. No box? Well, yours DOES have the tag, which carries a premium. I'd say around $200.

I'd say you came to the right place for answers, Anita. I've only been a member of this forum for a couple of months and I've been amazed at the level of baseball knowledge here.
