I got the Mets in the series, but who's going to play them? I'm still undecided-- Yankees have the more proven staff and monster line-up, Red Sox have made some high risk/ high reward investments, White Sox have a consistently strong team, even the Angels have some promise on the depth chart...someone help me out. Who's your pick?

Possible another Subway Series, but I want the Cards to repeat as well.

This sounds crazy but, RED SOX and PADRES both have the pitching, fielding, and the bats. Then again you have the Rangers too, they scare me this year!!:crazy

I predict the WS winner will be anyone who didn'[t make the playoffs last year. Pretty safe bet.

The Texas Rangers. Any team that fires Buck Showalter wins the following year.

The Mets seem a safe bet to me, especially if Pedro's health is as good as the papers are saying it is.
The Yankees, to me, will make it as long as either of two things happen: a) They sign Roger Clemens, or b) Philip Hughes gets called up and pitches as well as I expect him to. If either of those things happen, they have a good enough pitching staff to beat the rest of the league; if they both happen, they have far and away the best staff in the league (if both of those things happen, Mike Mussina will be their fifth starter for the playoffs).
Failing that, I'd probably go with the Red Sox. Not understanding the Rangers talk at all; I don't see them finishing higher than third in their division.

yankees do look good this year but i really like the mets. they did some damage last year, came very close for making it the world series and if pedro stays healthy, they should be in for a long run.
i agree with someone who posted this above me, i see a subway series.

I can see the Dodgers having multiple prospects pan out and take the Series. Marlins the same. Red Sox's rotation's upside+Manny and Papi could carry them to a series.

Can we get a poll with this? Make this the official WS prediction thread, and close it when the season starts? Mods?
Anyways, for the WS, I have a few choices. In the NLCS, I like the Cubs and the Padres. ALCS, I like the Tigers and Yankees/RedSox/Jays. For the WS, I think that this will be the year that the Cubbies finally do it.

I like the Dodgers and I think the AL east is going to fall victim to Central and West teams again. I like Anaheim and if Boof can pitch a whole season like he did that last two months, Minnesota might be able to get there.

Ever have some Meatloaf for dinner? Anyway, 2 out of 3 (Yanks and D-Backs) ain't bad. :D That theory's gotta fail sometime and 2007 seems like a very likely time for that to happen.
I say that's nice in theory, but they'll need to have a very good season just to make it to the playoffs. If not for the Mariners, they'd be in the AL West basement. They'd definitely have to show me something before I believe this.
Me, I'm going with the Yanks. Then again, I did so last year and the year before that also. :)

At Shea? The NL have to win the All Star game first, that hasn't happened in a decade. If your dream is to come true, you may have to accept that it's likely to be at the Metrodome. :ughh
