I've been looking at some photos of ball park stadiums on ballparkdigest.com and found some really interesting ball parks with beautiful views of the downtown skyline that surrounds the park. So far the three that I've found most interesting are Comerica Park in Detroit, PNC Park in Pittsburgh, and Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Are there any other parks with beautiful surround sights as these?
PS...I'm not about to travel to Canada to watch a baseball game in a retractable roof stadium with astroturf.

Not much, its the sky. But sosmetimes when its cloudy the sunset makes it look great... although due to the heat they leave the roof closed and the square holes in the back wall. They leave them closed untill sometime in August.

Not only can you see the skyline of downtown Seattle from Safeco, but you can also see the roof of Qwest Field, home of the mighty Seattle Seahawks football squad. :)

I agree steveironcity that the PNC Park view is awesome (I have actually been there once and seen it in person). But to pick a nit the original poster already identified PNC as one of the best and was looking for suggestions for other good ones too. :)

Although nothing beats the Bronx Count Courthouse (I'm a homer also), I was at the All Star game at PNC this year and it's really a great place to watch a game. Here are some shots I took.

Should I gloat at this point and let you know where my World Series tickets were? (Right Field Bleachers for Game 4 adn Left Field for the clincher, since you asked :laugh )
The photo was taken before the first game, the left field bleachers and upper deck in left are not quite finished yet....
The area beyond the stadium in left will become the "Ballpark Village" an area of retail, bars, reastaurants, and residential as well. Should be a great place to go before, after, or in the case of ever increasing demand for tickets, during a game.
You can completely block out the ballpark, and know this is a photo of Busch Stadium... with the famous Gateway Arch out beyond right field.

Stan I bet you already know this, but the Cardinals are the first team to win the World Series in an inaugural season of a new stadium since the Red Sox did it in 1912 in Fenway Park's first year!

Yes I do, and I was in the left field bleachers, thus breaking the Red Sox Record for winning a WS at hoime, in the first year of a stadium, with me in attendance.
I was not at the 1912 World Series.;)

Even though it is not a MLB park, this view is very nice IMO. Great location in the center of down town Memphis.
Just check Uncle Bob's Ballparks for more pictures of this ball park.

The really ironic thing about that picture was that a few weeks after I first downloaded it there was another flood there. ESPN was showing people wading through the water in the bowels of the ballpark, quite a sight!

Baltimore's skyline is pretty bad, and the Yard doesn't make it look any better. Though the Bromo-Seltzer Tower looks awesome at night from the upper deck....

Disagree with that. Baltimore's got a great skyline straight up center field. And like everything else in post 1991 ballparks, it started the trend of showcasing a city's skyscrapers beyond the fences. I'll agree PNC outdid it in terms of the view, but then again, PNC doesn't have the warehouse either, which still gives OPACY its originality, copycats notwithstanding.
Of course, as an O's fan I might be a bit biased. But even putting that aside, Baltimore's in the top contingent of views beyond the fence.

I disagree. The Bromo-Seltzer tower is awesome, but in the middle of the day, OPACY is not all that special. IMO, Toronto and Pittsburgh are the best, with St. Louis a distant third.

But not by clinching at home........ The Cards did, and before that, it was done at Fenway in 1912.

I totally disagree. The skyscrapers which shine blue and gold at night are bery cool to see along with the night sky. I think Washington's stadium, however has a terrible view and the new riverfront, although I wouldn't kayak in it, will be a much better view than RFK.

The Allegheny River is running very high in the picture. The riverfront walkway beyond the right field wall can't be seen because it's underwater!

I just don't understand why they didn't align the new DC ballpark for a view of the Capitol and Washington monument. You'd think that would be a natural way to do things given the setting. Far as I heard, only a few fans in the upper deck will be able to see them. The rest will see parking garages.

DC didn't want the retro look that all the ballparks are getting. They just wanted a simple place for holding baseball games.

It doesn't matter if it's retro or not. I'd just figure that the team would want to show off something that is unique to the city the team plays in, such as the Capitol and/or the Washington Monument.

That is exactly the opposite of what they wanted to do.
