How much will the suspension of Guillermo Mota for the first 50 games of the season affect the Mets' bullpen and/or season?

Probably not much. Right-handed bullpen arms are just about the easiest kind to find.

I'd have to agree. Further, with Mota going back to being a mere mortal, his performance may not be missed at all, and perhaps even undesired when the time comes.
We shall see.

Plus, Duaner Sanchez and (it appears from Dalko's input) Juan Padilla will be coming back. The team only needed people like Roberto Hernandez and Mota after Sanchez got hurt.

Maybe if Mota strings together a few good innings, and assuming our bullpen is good, he can be a piece of trade bait...

Would you do Mota, Delgado, and LoDuca for him? That's as far as I'm willing to go

:laugh ..And rightly so. Let's just, um, find some other form of barter. How 'bout Reyes and Wright?

One thing I've noticed...Mota's pitching wasn't affected by the steroids. From what I've heard, relievers take steroids for endurance, not speed/muscle building. If this oaf was off roids, he'd be pitching the way he was. On the other hand, he's not going to face any MLB hitting for fifty consecutive games. That, on the other hand, may indeed hurt his pitching.
