I asked a kid (he's my age) on the Pat Neshek boards who lives in Syracuse, NY. He told me if I send custom index cards he could get them signed. I sent them to him. I got the CICs back today. They look like he signed them himself. I have pictures. I've been told by about 5 people already that it's a forgery. I need opinions before I proceed to tell him about it. I know it's not baseball related but I need all the help I can get. Thank you, Ryan

I'm no expert, but they look fake to me.

I'm currently in the process of writing a PM to him. He probably won't respond but I'm angry that he took advantage of me. I mean he could have told me he didn't/couldn't get them but no, he fakes their autographs and tries to trick me.

Ryan-Those are definately forged. All 4 look like they were signed by the same person. Either that or we now know the education requirements for Syracuse. Sorry that you were taken on this one.

I was told to go post this on the PNMB and tell everyone of his forging. I wrote him a letter that was written by a friend because I'm horrible at writing letters for situations like this. I'm angry that some people are like this. I'm just glad that I didn't give him any autographs for him helping me out. I just helped him with a few addresses.

I wonder why he would even waste his time with that? I guess he wants to feel like a star and sign some autographs.

He told me this before I sent anything to him.

that is what they look like when they take two seconds to sign their name. it is unbelievable that they can't take their time to sign for people. like actually signing their whole name. it takes me about five seconds to rip off a full name sig in cursive. i guess that is too taxing for them. it was also cold enough to freeze your you know what off! i'm sorry that i couldn't get better looking graphs. devo's is probably the coolest. trob is a joke.
peace ryan, jared

As long as you didn't pay him, it sounds like there wasn't too much harm done. (He shouldn't have been an a**hole and done it though.)

I didn't pay him. I'm just angry and want to get to the bottom of this. I started playing dumb and just am trying to get answers because I don't want to get nasty with him but I guess I gotta do what I gotta do.

You need to let him know he didnt fool anyone. You need to embarrass him enough where he doesnt want to try that lame move again. If he thinks he got away with it, next time he may try something even worse.

I sent him a PM last night playing dumb. Once I get a response back, I'm going to lay into him. I mean its obvious they're fake. Just use this ebay picture as a reference.

They all look like the same person signed them. That kid is a chump for thinking that he can "dupe" you. Let the fellow folks at the other site know about his "tom foolery". :grouchy

True, I don't know what they're autographs look like. But, I can tell when the same person has tried to mimic their signatures, or tried to trace their signatures. The pressure of the pen, the inconsistencies and the overall unevenness of the flow of the signature are sure signs that they are forges. If I were you, I would simply drop it in order to save yourself the stress and just know that this is someone that can't be trusted. The worst that you're out is a few CIC's, postage, and your time.

You have nothing to gain from a continued relationship with this person--nothing.

Or you can post a thread at those forums and really embarass him :)

Agreed. Just to add my voice, those are undoubtedly fake, rwolfe09.

i mean their fake, but it doesnt realy matter. You made some cic's that dont take long at all, and you just gave him some adresses. He didnt realy rip you off of anything realy vauluble, its just kinda a low thing to do, but you wont realy benefit from trying to make him look even more bad, just tell him that it was preety low for him to do that, and that you dont realy feel like giving him all the extra attention for it.

I'm no expert what so ever, but those are the worst fakes I've ever seen, the signatures are so sloppy that it is apparent they are fakes, you can tell that he was looking at signatures and redrawing/rewriting them, you can tell he would stop and continue making the line....if youre going to do forge at least do it well.:laugh

Get this! He deleted his account, re-created it and posted this on the forum.

"i'm going to be leaving the forum for a few months. maybe not even coming back. things have gotten rough around here. pat much love to you and hope that you will continue to have a great career. you are doing a good thing with the game used stuff and putting this site together. bye "

This is all after I nicely broke to him that people with experience of autographs (longer then him and I are alive for) told me about the fake autos. He freaked out then got nice. I was constantly nice to him. I told him I believed him (which I never fully did but now I don't believe him one bit) and that if I believe they're fake then it's more power to me. He told me there was no fight going on and then deleted his account. He's obviously guilty.

Nice work, detective. Another fraud exposed.

He later posted that a relative died last week and he's being treated for cancer. It doesn't make it better, but he was playing the sympathy card. Everyone told him not to leave, and just admit he did it.

Yeah and I think that makes it even worse. Personally, I beleive he lied about both his uncle dying and that he has "some weird disease. the doctors dont even know whats wrong with him, and that he doesnt know if he will be able to post on the boards anymore because of it". We already caught him of lying once, and now hes overdoing it. He should just admit it and get on with it, rather than running from his guilt.

He finally admitted faking it today. He said his brother really needed the autographs. He should have just held on to the CICs for next time. What a bum
