On the lighter side of trivia, Charlie Gehringer had two teammates, who together could have, also, been Mechanical Men. Who were they??

During the war, one of his teammates was Al Unser... I'm not sure if he was related to the Indy car driver dynasty.

On the same team (1942) was Virgil Trucks.

Both appropriately named players for a team based in Detroit.

Nope. Neither a Car or a truck could be construed as a mechanical man. And don't be so serious.

I hope Hooks Dauss isn't one of them.

I've seen a teammate called Clyde Hatter, who may have been mad.

Another named Jack Russell, who was a real dog of a player.

And Del Pratt, who is half of Pratt and Whitney, but Pinky Whitney played in the National League...

If we're going the car route, Wilbur Cooper

Okay, it's none of those guys and has nothing to do with cars. This question is just for fun and VERY tongue-in-cheek. If you take this question seriously, you have no chance.

Okay, I'll try to take it even less seriously: As well as "Black Mike," Mickey Cochrane was also known as "Iron Mike."

Well, that was enough fun. In 1933 Charlie Gehringer had as teammates Schoolboy Rowe and Bots Nekola. Those two together are ROweBOTS (i.e. mechanical men)!
