I live in Woodbridge and follow the Potomac Nationals (Single-A affiliate) closely. Look for regular updates here on them.
Former ML pitcher Randy Tomlin has been named the pitching coach for the 2007 P-Nats. He joins returnees Manager Randy Knorr and hitting coach Troy Gingrich.

Vasprtsfn-a great idea! Thanks! I've taken the liberty of putting a "sticky" on this thread so it won't get lost in the shuffle. I look forward to reading your inputs as the season approaches. I've never made it over to Woodbridge-something about that Potomac River crossing that I try to avoid at all costs.

Probably 27 years ago now, I did travel to Alexandria, VA to watch the Alexandria Dukes, a Seattle Mariners farm-team, IIRC, that played at a high school field.

It's great having a minor league affiliate of the parent team in such close proximity, but unfortunately the media coverage is somewhat lacking with the parent team commanding all the attention.

Again, my thanks, and please keep us updated on the Potomac team.:gt

The Dukes were the precursor to the Prince William team. By the time they moved to Woodbridge, they were the Pirates' Carolina league team. A couple of years after they moved, A friend of mine went to a Prince William Pirates game with his older brother who pointed out that one of the players was Bobby Bonds' son, "but he isn't very good";)

The P-Nats kick off their season on April 4 when they host an exhibition game against George Mason University. On August 10, the home game against Winston Salem will feature a bobblehead giveaway of 2nd year manager Randy Knorr.
