No I didn't forget Drew. I just don't have him in the top 10.

Can you explain how Rios, Markakis, and Ordonez are all higher than him?

I can explain Rios and Markakis, but not Ordonez, if I'm only allowed to use one reason.

Injury risk.
A future risk has nothing to do with the past, which is what the poll is asking if I understand correctly.

the whole poll thing is crazy...it is like the All Star Ballot. Nothing but a popularity contest. Posada #3 catcher? Come on! Ichiro #7? it is a shamockery

Why wont you explain leaving drew off your list? Maybe because you dont like the red sox? Just like your "OK, red sox fan" comment in the Sox forum.

The two people that left him off the list completely were you (chris) and FatBill who is a notorious Yankee homer. Its pretty easy to see the only real excuse for leaving him off... Not liking him. Too bad this isn't a "Who are the right fielders you like" pol.

Manny Ramirez is my 2nd favorite active player (after Berkman), and Ted Williams is my favorite historical player. So it has nothing to that.
I left Drew off my list because I don't think he's as good as he's hyped up to be and I would take any one of the ten guys I listed on my team in a heartbeat over Drew. I factor in other things besides raw talent. He's selfish. He doesn't play hurt (and he's always hurt) and his numbers usually aren't that impressive even when he's healthy.

Personally, I have Drew eighth. And I like the Red Sox about as much as the Orioles. BTW, I take these to mean "Who would you rather have on your team if you wanted to win this year" and while I don't take potential or money issues into account, I do take other intangibles such as injury risk, etc. If you're judging solely based on performance, then Drew should probably be somewhere 4-8. I don't, so I have him eighth.

How much is he hyped up to be? No one on this site hypes him up, everyone pretty much puts him down for the same reason you do.
How do you know he's selfish? Are you friends with him? How do you know he doesn't ever play hurt? Have you ever been on his training staff? Pure assumptions.
His numbers are actually very impressive when he's healthy. His 133 OPS+ is better than Beltran's, Morneau's, Dye's, Ordonez's, V. Wells', Glaus, and Konerko's. Not to mention being one of the best defensive outfielders in the game and being a pretty good baserunner.

Well he doesn't play alot, so I guess youcould assume that he never plays hurt.
For Beltran he just recently broke out, and you would be lying if you were to say that you would rather have him than Drew. Drew has only played over 130 games four times throughout his career. Vernon Wells recently broke out aswell too.
JD Drew one of the best devensive OFs...he's good but not one of the best.

How could you assume he never plays hurt? He has played over 145 games 2 of the last 3 years? You mean to tell me it's impossible to say he was hurt at any point in that time?
I didnt say I would rather have Drew than Beltran, but production wise over their career, Drew has been better with the bat... same with Vernon Wells. Drew's career OPS+ is seven points higher than Wells' best season, which was this past year.
And yes, I do think he's one of the best.... I dont think there are many right fielders that are better. But feel free to correct me and point them all out.

Abreu, Dye, Ichiro, are the only ones who immediately come to mind...Vlad's arm makes me wonder too...but at RF he's top five defensively as far as I'm concerned...however as an over all OF? Dunno about that one.

I didnt mean overall, considering the depth of talent in centerfield.... but for a right fielder he is very good. I dont consider Dye better than him, I have never seen him as a top tier defender....and Abreu as of late doesnt look as good as he used to. Ichiro is easily better, but now he has moved to center where he should have been all along. I think Nixon might be better than him as well.
