free parking around stadium?

I think The Fonz is referring to the Route 25A overpass.

I tend to find a parking space in a neighborhood somewhere around 111th Street and walk to the stadium along Roosevelt Avenue from there.

Does anyone know of any free parking around the stadium?

When I was a kid, my dad would park in Flushing Meadows Park but the Mets caught on to that. Then I used to park by the pier but the Mets started charging for that too last year. I've parked underneath the expressway too, but I'm always leery that one day they're gonna decide to either ticket or tow everyone there.

Like I say, if you park in a neighborhood just south of Roosevelt Avenue on the other side of the Grand Central around 111th Street (even as far south as the old Worlds Fair Rockets), it's free, the car is as safe as it would be anywhere else, and it's legal.

It's really not too long of a walk, and it's certainly worth avoiding the traffic (both to and from), fees, tickets, etc. I actually prefer it to public transportation.
