The Women's Baseball Club at Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana, USA will be hosting the WBL Women's Baseball Leadership Conference on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Saint Mary's campus.

The theme this year is "Getting Girls In The Game". The keynote speaker for this is former MLB pitching coach Bob Cluck (currently a consultant with the San Diego Padres), who wrote "Playing Better Baseball For Girls" amongst severaL other baseball books. He understands that girls are not given the same opportunities when it comes down to them wanting to play baseball.

Along with Bob, other speakers will include representatives of USA Baseball giving us an update on the 15U Champions Program and hopefully representation from the USSSA Baseball, BPA, AAU, Babe Ruth and Little League, Inc. Also in attendace will be Rocky Henley, who helped organize the San Francisco Girl's program in summer 2006.

Conference sessions will run all day on Friday with Bob giving a talk right after lunch. He is also slated to give a pitching clinic the next morning at Saint Mary's College which will be open to conference attendees as well as the general public. All together, we plan to have about six to seven sessions on Friday.

Full conference registration (which includes lunch on Friday and the clinic on Saturday) will be $65 for adults and $30 for students (18 and under).

You're welcome. There's been a potential addition to the list of guest speakers for this. Someone (I forgot her name) from the Women's Sports Foundation should be there to speak.
