With Tony Gwynn being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Padres have some pretty impressive players in Cooperstown. Not bad for a team that is only 38 years old.

1. Tony Gwynn HOF 2007 Padre 1982-2001
2. Ozzie Smith HOF 2002 Padre 1978-1981
3. Dave Winfield HOF 2001 Padre 1973-1980
4. Rollie Fingers HOF 1992 Padre 1977-1980
5. Gaylord Perry HOF 1991 Padre 1978-1979
6. Willie McCovey HOF 1986 Padre 1974-1976

Ford Frick Award Winner Jerry Coleman Padre 1972 to present

Forgot to add Sparky Anderson to the list of Padres Hall of Famers.
Coached the 1969 SD Padres; 1970 Cincinnati Reds and the rest is history.

Question: Did those guys go in as Padres? Not to try and take anything away from the Pads. I only ask because the Dodgers only recognise Dodger HoFers as those who go in wearing a Dodger cap. Still that's a nice list. How about Ted Williams? He should be an honorary Padre at least. :)

Only Gwynn and Winfield are in as Padres.

I can and will never recognize Juan Marichal as a Dodger HOFer.

All of the above players played for the Padres at some point in their careers.

Only Dave Winfield and Tony Gwynn went in as Hall of Famers.
Gwynn played his whole career in San Diego.
While Winfield played more years as Yankee than a Padres. He also played for the Angels, Blue Jays, Twins and Indians.
