Just like the subject says. I received the new address list from Harvey yesterday (I opted for 2-3 day priority mail). When I ripped the package open (I was like a kid on x-mas!) boy was I excited! This book is HUGE! So easy to navigate through, lists former players who work in the front office, coaches in the majors and minors, I mean you name it and this book has it. Also has a section for Negro League players addys and the women's league too! The best part in my opnion is how it lists the address's for EVERY minor league team. Now that is awesome. $30+ well spent. I compared some of the addys from this book to Jack Smalling's last book. Smalling's book has the wrong zip codes for alot of players. (I compared both sets of addys to usps.com) and found that Harvey's book is dead on. Just wanted to share. So who else got their book in the mail?

Got mine today. I got the one with all 4 major sports. Didn't get one last year, looks like it's improved.

All I can say is: It's 110% better than Jack Smalling's baseball address list. :clapping :D

I like the section with former players that are working for teams and the personality section. I do miss the list that had guys who appeared in sets but not in the big leagues. Maybe they're in the regular list now.

Harvey made a GREAT improvement this year in my opinion. He spiral-bound the book instead of using book-binding. That makes it a heck of a lot easier to use.

How long does it take him to process the order and ship it out? I ordered mine about 5 days ago. I opted for the Media Mail shipping since I live close to him and USPS said it would take about 3 days... I know I need to be patient but I cant wait..........

Thanks!

That all depends. How did you pay him? Check? Money Order? Credit card?
It takes time man. It's just him and his son Brett who do everything.

Hi

I just wanted to respond to these glorious posts for Harvey meiselman's address lists.

Both Harvey's and Jack's book are great works. I have used Jack's book ever since #1 and have been very happy with the correctness in addresses etc and the pricing, which is a third less than Harvey's lists.

Jack Smalling's Baseball Autograph Collector's Handbook is first rate and professionally done.

What many may not realise is that Harvey actually worked with Jack in the beginning and then went on his own once he learned the ropes from Jack.

Jack is an icon in the collecting world, been around for ages and foremost a true autograph collector and autograph dealer and has many autograph offerings.

It is truly much more difficult in publishing a book compared to a list that is much easier to produce.

BOTH are fine works and both deserve their EQUAL dues.

Some of these testimonials on Harvey's Lists sound like canned promos to me.

BOTH are great works and for the price of both i'd recommend getting both the list and the book. They both have great advantages for the autograph collector.

Happy collecting!

Yeah ok man. Whatever you say. I was so sick and tired of getting "Return to senders", "No such street address", no such zip code, etc etc, from using Smalling's crappy books. I wasted so much time, and stamps, that it wasn't funny. I could care less if George Bush publishes these books, I'm just telling you as I see it. And another thing.... I endorse no one.

Meisselman is the best. i don't buy his books every year, but I think every 2 years ought to cover it.

Can't wait to get the `09 book!

Kind of funny that your first post on this site, is to try to sell books for Jack. With all due respect, Jack's books are worthless crap, compared to Harvey's lists. Jack was the man in the early 90's, but his rude customer service, and outdated addy's finally caught up to him.

Some of Mr. Andrews' writing on Smalling's lists sounds like a canned promo to me.

Exactly. I stopped buying Smalling's junk when I e-mailed them simply asking:" Do you know when your next book will be out?" Their reply:"No idea." I don't want that as answer. So I turned to the "dark side" and bought Harvey's. On a side note: I deleted his other threads, because he was trying to sell stuff.

Some of Mr. Andrews' writing on Smalling's lists sounds like a canned promo to me.That's what I am thinking too. Funny thing is: 95% of us use Harvey's book.

BTW, what's the website for it again? I'd like to buy a copy.

And my pithy response to him went with it. Ah well. ;)

That's pretty much the method I use when purchasing my lists from Harvey. I have his 05 Ultimate List, the 06 Baseball List, and the 08 Ultimate List. I've personally been very pleased with the service from Harvey. I can't comment on Smallings list because I've never purchased one, but I will say that I was pleased with a recent autographed card order from both he and his son. I was able to knock a few set cards out thanks to them.

I haven't had much luck with the 07 book yet but I will try some more. I've only sent to Brandon Inge, Todd Jones and Tim Wallach who used to play for the Expos. No response from Jones or Wallach yet and Inge was a "no such address" thing. I think I will just write to current players c/o their team and focus more on retired guys. I will probably buy next years address book.
